Where to mount tweeters?

I just received my new set of Kicker RS65.2 components, and need to know where would be the best place to mount the tweeters in my doors. The mids will be mounted in the stock door location. I attached a picture with four options. Most of the other Escort owners that I know have put their tweeters at Option 1. What do you think would be the best? Or are there any that would be better?

Also, I'm debating whether to mount the crossovers back by the amplifier, or to try to find a place up by the doors to mount them. Is there anything wrong with putting them in back besides the fact that I'll need extra wire? Or would it be better to mount them up front?

I had a '97 Mercury Tracer with the tweets in spot #1. It was not good for SQ. If 3 isn't blocked by your legs I'd say it is better.

Even better, I'd consider placing the tweeters in your kick panel. The best thing you can do is take some double sided tape and move the tweeters around in all the locations to find which works best. Then place them there. We're all just taking guesses because each vehicle/amp/HU/speaker combo can make a difference.

I'd also suggest placing the crossovers under your dash above the kick panels. There should be enough room.
