blaugh!!!!
Im just looking to get some computer speakers that can get decently loud. I have this stock crap harmon kardon. Has a sub and 2 little speakers with 2 tweets in each one....they look like little wine glasses or something... anyways, they dont get loud at all, sound like absolute crap now. Where can I get some decent ones....what brands should I be lookin at for about 100 bucks?

I just want 2 speakers and MAYBE a sub. preferrably spend the money on just 2 speakers that can get decently loud.

Logitech makes some descent ones for 100 bux, but i got a pair of Klipsch THX 2.1 setup, didnt like the sub at first but then i actually put it in a corner and it wangs pretty **** nice and smooth for a 6.5 in woof for 150 bux + a 2 yr unlimited warranty

Ebay. But be careful who you buy them from. Check the seller's feedback. Klipsch 2.1 200W or Logitech Z-2300 200W. I just bought Logitech Z2200 200W on ebay (from CWO Group) and one channel didn't work right so I had to eat it. I could have returned it for another one but the shipping was too much. The Z-2200 (which is basically the same as the Z-2300 rocked and was loud as hell). I don't know about Bose - they have excellent reviews (Companion and Mediamate) but they never tell you the wattage of the speakers. Never. Look at the reviews at ecoustics.com, tigerdirect and newegg. They'll give you a great idea where to start.

im sure those WERE NOT worth the extra 100+ bucks.
nope they were not.. And i didnt even care about the price, since it wasnt an option i didnt even look til i was ready to buy.. The klipschs' were very clean with a much better sub imho and had a 2 yr warranty on top of it

Klipsch. 2.1 is OK. 5.1 is grrrreat. 2.1 has a 6.5" subwoofer...eh, it's ok but...the 5.1 promedia is sweet...dual side firing 8" subs in a vented 6th order bass reflex box. ****ing loud, IMO. Louder than any 'computer speaker' is ever expected to be. I gotta turn that **** down constantly, it makes my entire house rattle when it's cranked at all. The satellites are clean and the crossover network blends PERFECTLY. Get the Promedia 5.1. Do it. DO IT!! Oh wait. 100$ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif :( c'mon, only 300$ for FIVE 3" midrange drivers, 5 25mm tweeters, 2 8" subwoofers all in enclosures PLUS a 6 channel 500w amplifier. You know you want to...if you get something ~100$ you'll just be kicking yourself later //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Unless of course you've got teh mad 1337z HT setup already i guess..but in that case...pipe the PC to that using your 100$ imo //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The one thing I wish my Z5500's had ... tweeters. And klipsch has tweeters in a horn //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I have to keep my 5500's @ 1/5 sub volume because it really pounds the low end.

I have the klipsch promedia 5.1 , and now I have JBL towers on each side of my desk, the subwoofer leaves me with something to be desired, if you ask me, your way better off with a 5.1 home reciever, two nice towers, and your own subwoofer.

This of course if you want to enjoy your music.
