Where to buy mosfet?

Good question... I have no idea, I don't even have the amp yet I was just hoping to get teh part now so I can fix it ASAP when it shows up friday... I guess I will have to wait and see what the numbers are on it

looks just like this:

ST

P60MF06

7SAGRV6

PHL545

someone has soldered it, the connection is not broken or anything....? as in the three metal "prongs" coming from it have been soldered back together (assuming they usualy seperate when they blow as i have seen in the past?)

How did you trace it back to this part?

If you can troubleshoot an amp without seeing it in person, you're a better tech than I //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Got the amp... got it like 5 days ago actualy...

As for tracking it, i am no tech but the one mosfet is burnt so i figure that is a good starting point. If that don't fix it then i will just send it in for the needed repairs. I fugre for

did a little searchign and found an P60NF06 made by ST... may be I just read it wrong, those numbers are TINY!

ST website says this: N-channel 60V 0.014Ω - 60A TO-220 STripFET II™ Power MOSFET

and I found them on Future Electronics for just over $1 http://www.futureelectronics.com/en/Search.aspx?dsNav=N:4294913620,Ntk:partNumberSearch%7cSTP60NF06%7c1%7c,Ny:True,Nea:True

I am hoping for sme input as i have never tried fixing an amp before... in all honesty, I will probably just take the mosfet and the board somewhere and have someone else solder it in there... or my girls step-dad builds computers and is a tech of some sort for Aegon so I am sure he could do it for free...

Depending if it's input or output FETs, It's best to replace all of them on that side.

Also, you really need a o-scope to actually find out what is going on. Other parts in the signal path may be what caused it, or may have gone bad from this...
