where to buy fiberglass resin?

i went to the depot today, and DAMMM!! $25 for a gallon of fiberglass resin.

the glass mat wasn't bad, like $5 for a 9sq feet packet.

but $25 for a gallon, is it usu dat expensive?

Unless you buy in serious bulk (think boat production facility here), then yes it is that expensive.

cheaper than the resin i use. but i buy clear resin, as opposed to the amber colored home depot carries. thats about the norm price at least where i live it is. its cheaper than buying it by the quart though.

im assuming its the bondo brand resin, which is what home depot here carries. if so, you may want to try their site to see if you can order it cheaper.

you might try a marine store. I live near the water so I have a lot of them around...the local price is $21.95 for a gallon of polyester resin and $1.45 for the catalyst.

Not so much Canada as a whole, but if you went to a Canadian Tire about 8 hours from here, a fiberglass kit is $12-$14. Here at Canadian Tire ... same exact fiberglass kit, $24. It's not a cheap thing, especially when you're doing something that requires like 3-4 gallons and a ton of matt.
