Where is the best place online to buy custom cut lexan or plexiglass? Thinking about doing a false floor for my amps and would like to cover the amps in clear plastic. Also what thickness would be good? I was thinking 1/4".

I work at ace hardware and we sell 1/8 inch plexiglass cut to whatever size you need. most hardware stores or home depots will cut u plexi

Might need something a little thick that doesn't flex much. All piece are going to be 7" x various lengths, so it might not flex much since its not that wide. Any other thoughts?

1/2 should be thick enough

and get lexan instead of plexi...a lot of sign and glass shops can cut it...some sign shops can laser engrave it also

lol 1/2" is expensive. Fould be cool to get it engraved though.

you can cut lexan yourself...its pretty easy...

Depending on how you do it you can go with a rather thin piece. When I use it for amp racks and such I built a wooden trim panel with open areas where the amps go and place the lexan or plexi there. I also normally frost or engrave a design and use some neon to make the design glow.

How do you cut it? And how do you frost and engrave it? Larger sheets are just as cheap as cut pieces so I can save some money by cutting it myself.

the best place to buy online is ridout plastics in california decent pricing they will do engraving if u like or just plain cut to your size!!!

Could use a die grinder or even a dremel. You want 1/4", 1/8" will flex and sag if anything needs to be set on top of it. PM me i have some that I could possibly cut and ship to you for cheaper than what youd pay anywhere else.

I have done lots of research for a build I'm doing. I would say 3/4 for a box and 1/4 for windows or 1/8 if u get them secured and nothing on top of them. The absolute cheapest place is freckle face.... Look on Google for it. It beats everyone by 10 bucks or more.
