Where do you start on a big install?

If you were going to do a big install, where do you guys typically start?

I was thinking this order.

1. Dampening

2. Electrical

3. Box

4. Equipment

This. Electrical is a must for safety of car and functioning.

Dampening is also important but should be done after.

Equipment 3rd because it will dictate the box you design.

Get your equipment together first. I generally start with damping and running cables, then move on to building baffles and boxes. Electrical upgrades like the big three come last after everything is installed and working.

There is really no right answer, but you certainly wouldn't do things out of order, say build a box before choosing subs..

I think electrical should come first if it exceeds something small like the big3. otherwise your project is always behind an eight ball.

Alternators, batteries, etc need to be taken into account asap.

1)charging system

4)choose gear based on goals/space

5)placement and designing

6)get it up and running

electrical then dampening get my vote. its the only stuff that shouldn't be changed (if done right the first time).

1. new alt

2. new batt

3. power and grounds

4. dampening
