i had mine wired to the amp

+ to remote wire on amp

- to ground

yeah.

thats how i did mine.

i checked with a DMM and DMM was reading higher still.

what voltage do you want to read? I do mine directly off the power and ground of the amp, with the REM going through a toggle switch from the 12v REM relay.

my bad for being misleading.

I dont have my amp running off the remote wire from the deck.

so BHSdriller has it correct.

if the VM can handle the amperage I would put it on the power wire close to the amp and mount it to the box. It should tell you the rating somewhere.

^^^ x2 thats how i have mine, don't forget to calibrate the voltage meter using a dmm or something as reference after you have it hooked up.

I have the remote wire and ground wire connect to the volt meter from the radio, send the + back to the amp so I can see the amps voltage.

lol, handle amperage, it isnt a fuse, because the wire goes to the amp doesnt mean the electrical system will FORCE amperage into it. I would put it on your amps wires since really, that is what you need to be concerned about.
