Your first step should be to learn everything that is on that site. I am not even close to being an "expert" but the things on that site are something that every one that is working with 12 volt electronics should know.

I notice you are in Las Vegas. So am I. hmmmm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/ponder.gif.ec2527b23f1d287b60dcbba54f95edba.gif

but yea, when i get my next system in my new car, im going to try to install it by my self, so hopefully it goes all good

I used to watch my older brother work on his car when I was growing up. I replaced the deck and speakers in my first car when I was 16. I took out an old sony cassette player and replaced it with a new jvc and bought some infinity speakers at circuit city.

I did my first amp install on my own when I was 18. I bought a kenwood 2-chan amp and installed a pair of Boss subs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Having all these online forums really help out now, especially when dealing with a certain make car or product.

Chuck Norris. His comps do 170dB off the deck. Built himself, of course. lol

Jokes aside, my first install was actually at Checker's parking lot. Eclipse 6124 going into an MTX202. Friend told me "You're gonna want 2 subs sooner or later." He was right.

Next was in the garage. Replaced stock speakers with some pioneers, 5.25" rear and 4" front, both pairs for under $50 total on eBay. For $50, they at least work. Then moved up to 2 10" type-r's for the lows. Absolutely loved them. After i ripped both cones, I pretty much went through different dual 10"/single 12" subwoofer setups. Never touched my midspeakers up to now. But after reading through this site, I've got a better idea on how to upgrade them, what to choose from, and how/where I should install them. Never worked with crossovers before so my next upgrade should be a sweet addition to my knowledge of all things car audio.

i started in my garage when i was 11. i read stuff all the time and my uncle alway's let me help with install's after i was good enough. but mostly on my own....ive had a love for it before i did women lol.my first install was in a older plymouth gold edition duster.
