Where did you guys learn how to install car audio?

so what if people learned to install here. i learned the basics from friends when i was 15ish, played around with my first system in my first car, then learned the more advanced stuff here and eca.

Since then I've learned to build/fg/install basically thru a few different websites and some buds

But most of it was thru trial and error

Haha, I'm a function over form guy anyways, so my current skills suit me well.

my first vehicle came with a system in it; the girl told me it had "two 12s" and i had nooooo idea what the hell that meant until i saw them, and from there i upgraded the amp (had it installed by someone else) then just started messing around with it

learned the basics in my driveway through trial and error

learned the tips and tricks on here

Friends... and guys from a local shop... mostly figured stuff out myself(best way to do it!).

I learned how to do alarms and remote starts from a guy I worked at circuit city now... hes now head installer at a very reputable shop around here.

Read and ask around. I started the system im doing now, and its the first system i have EVER done at all. I learned most of what i know now from this forum, and some other how to's i've found around the internet.

I would just say gather info on what you can so you know the basics, and just give yourself a lot of time for your install. If you have a question along the way you do not know the answer for, come drop a post on here. Im sure someone will be able to answer

Yea well ive had a couple systems and both were professionally installed and it costs so much for something I can learn how to do myself.
