Where can I get BIG wire?

Okay, you guys tell me what I need.....

I've got a Zapco 9.0 that runs about 175amps full tilt

I've got a Zapco Reference 1000.4 that runs about 110amps full.

Possibly adding one more smaller amp in the future....

Got a 300amp alternator.

So far for both amps, if i use them to their fullest, I will be drawing ~285 amps, but then that power will be going through 18-20 feet of cable, so.....

I'm thinking I need 2/0 from the front to the back, then after it hits my back batteries, I am safe to use 0/1 for short runs from the back batteries to the amps....

you have batts in the back...a single piece of 1/0 is fine off the alt to the back.

What brand 300 amp alt is it? I'd almost bet money you arent' getting close to 300 amps during driving

Excessive Amperage...

So i should be okay with just one run of 0/1? That's what I have in there right now... I don't have my Zapco9.0 hooked up yet

yeah, you'll be fine with that. You won't be anywhere near 300 amps worth of current between the front battery and the rear battery

i found some stinger power wire 3/0 gauge though, its like almost 8bucks a ft.

I'll stay with the 0/1 for right now then. If I decide to add another amp later, I'm gonna probably go with one run of 2/0 just to be on the safe side. Thanks for everybody's input!

And I'm sure this thread will help out someone else that needs to find bigger wire later on...

you can use that stinger triple 0

6200 , 36 awg , tinned copper strands, uber flex, oval

light grey and or black jacket

like $350 per 30ft spool shipped

and you will need special ends for it

If you have battery(s) in the rear, single run of 1/0 is all you need.
