Just to clarify, because we have so many people who get there sh it jacked/stolen/vandalized: don't go batman vigilante justice style. Call the cops, let them handle it. I know a lot of people react on emotion and spur of the moment, but this will just f u c k you over in the end.

Have a friend who got his brand new car vandalized, decided to go rogue, and fucked the other kids car up. Some chick ratted him out, and even though he got a new paint job through insurance on his car, he is now facing felony charges for messing up the other kids car.

Cliffs: Don't be a dumb***. Insure your shit. Let the cops handle it how they will.

Meh. When I was in high school my vehicle got keyed. They high school had parking lot cams. I went to the police and told them the whole situation and showed them the key marks. They took a report and did nothing. So I waited a couple of weeks for something to happen. Nothing did. I happened to pass the person I suspected (they had parked right in front of me that day so they did it as they passed by) in a stairwell that happened to be closed off(doors at top and bottom and since class had started nobody was there. I was going home early. he was late for class. I realized that it was too perfect so I asked him if he knew about my car. He said "you know i did it". I pushed him down a flight of stairs and chased him down and laid into his face at the bottom of them. I wonder if he went to class after that.... I don't see how he could.

the cops dont care about ur stolen or vandalized ****. they arent going to investigate, they just take a report and go through the motions...and if ur lucky they might check to see if people they caught stealing **** have anything that was urs but the chances of them checking are slim and the chances of them catching anyone are slimmer

The fact of the matter is if everyone thinks everyone else going to be a pussy and go to the police knowing full well that the police aren't going to do anything unless it's a crime in progress... there is no deterrent for these crimes. I would equate what the OP said to gun control. It's the same thing. Don't defend yourself call the police. Oh yeah? How about we all defend ourselves so the criminals know they are taking an actual risk if they commit these crimes. I will guarantee that attitude reduces the chances that this will happen.
