When do you need a capacitor, bigger battery, or extra battery?

well then your an idiot to think that, if your lights are dimming with the big3 done, then you'll need a xtra batt cap or batcap... from what i have heard batcap or extra batt is way better then a cap, caps put a huge strain on your electrical system

I was just wondering when do you need a capacitor, bigger battery, or extra battery for sound system?
There really is no exact "when" to speak of. Every car is different.

If you have dimming with a current setup, steps need to be taken until the dimming is non-existent.

1: Big 3

2: Upgrade front battery

3: Add extra battery (or batteries) to rear.

4: High-output alternator.

As soon as one of these upgrades (or a combination of them) ceases the dimming, you're good to go!

Oh..and you just about NEVER need a cap.

here we go again..... i smell a capacitor war again //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

but the best thing to do is do the "big 3" if that doesnt solve ur issues go with a extra battery. the best way to tell if your good is with a volt meter. if your playing your music on 3/4 volume and your voltage barely drops into the 13v area then your fine.
