Ive heard that too. But Ive also heard Ben is still a significant player within that management. Either way, Ben himself was not the only person displaying poor ethics in the company.

I have used eDead multiple times. I feel that it is worthwhile.

For the purpose you outlined, I would go ahead and use it. Clean the area before applying and use a hairdryer/heatgun with a roller. You'll be fine.

OP-You are apparently new to the world of deadening and the science behind it, as well as the marketing over the years.

1. Rudy(Don aka SDS)-Created the Sound Deadener Showdown test site that was for all intent and purpose the first ever test of many different brands of deadening product. This actually caused a shift in the sound deadening industry. This was years before he actually decided to develop his own product after many years of research. His new product and coverage theories (25%) again caused a shift in the way some brands marketed product and even added product based on Don's finding and product development. This over the years has bleed over to the majority of the car audio consumers. There is a reason people keep pointing you to the SDS site, to bad Don took down the old test site but we understand why he did.

2. You need to learn how this product actually works and science behind it before you decide you want to have an in-depth semi-scientific discussion about it. There is a lot more going on then taking x and slapping it on something.

Answer to your questions is-Edead is in inferior product but it is obvious that is not what you want to hear. If your lucky Don might take time or someone else to explain why. I do not have the energy to do so when the search function works so well.

I recommend the search functions on google, caraudio.com ect. this topic you have brought up has been discussed at nausea for at least 5 to 8 years. There are tons of reviews and in-depth discussion on edead and this topic in general. Your ability to not search and find the info shows your laziness to do some research Mr. College smart guy.

BTW- You are on a car audio forum, yet you bring up your college and life goal. Guess what we do not give a Sh*t about what the F*ck you do or plan to do with your life. I can tell you, you are not educated in the world of car audio and that is why you have come here to get answers. If you don't need the answers then don't bother getting on the car audio forums, its a complete waste of your time.

Acting like you know everything will get you know where on any car audio forum or anywhere else.

Their customer service used to be downright HORRIBLE.

One friend ordered a sub and something shifted in transit causing the voice coil to be frozen. He called eD and they said "Your fault, you overpowered it!" He informed them that it had just come in and the cone/coil was frozen straight out of the packaging. Their response: "Your problem, not ours".

Another friend had an amplifier from them that blew and sent DC to his subs resulting in the subs being roasted too. He called them up and they said they would warranty the amp but he was on his own for the subs. He asked them about the warranty on the subs because they were eD and again they pulled the "your fault, not ours" routine.

With customer service like that, I automatically ruled them out from ANY product selections until I was given the free eDead. Now I know why it was free.

Edit: I did find a good use for the free eDEad. I used it between amplifier mounting boards and the vehicle sheet metal as well as between a subwoofer enclosure and the vehicle's sheet metal. It was a cheap way to keep the surfaces from vibrating against one another.

The OP is a joke. E-Dead works OK for its intended purpose, certainly not as good as SDS, SecondSkin, Dynamat, etc. I wouldn't install it upside down (roof panels) because its not as sticky as the others, but on flat panels it would work OK. Again, not as good as the others.

You get what you pay for, usually. In quality I would rate it SDS, SS, Dynamat, E-dead, Lowes/Ebay peel and seal.

you're absolutely right. i posted the same question on my other audio forum. (which is another thing you guys bi.tch about. who cares if i ask multiple forums=more people=more input. hell next thing you know ill be shopping at 2 maybe even 3 different online sites also...) so far 11 answers, none of them doing anything other than answering my question about edead. i guess 1 guy did say "you're right there are a lot better brands than edead, but here is my review on it from when i had it...." funny how this forum (not just this question) is always out to do anything but answer the question at hand. as im sure you didnt read the hole thread ill give you the cliff notes. all you guys do here is take my question, which i was not and am not even set on edead, i just wanted to know everyones experiences, and every single person is telling me every product i should get other than edead. if you cant see how this is irritating im sorry. but on the other hand, under that same concept and rationalization, we should list in a sticky the best sub/amp/hu/sound deadener/ect. for everyone to see. that way when joe blow comes along asking about a product like a type R sub, we can quickly point him to that sticky to let him know he is not getting the BEST! because obviously he can afford the best! just like apparently i can as well, or so you guys think. next time you are going to buy a toaster, microwave, tv, anything, be sure to buy the most expensive or what is considered to be the best. dont bother asking people about lesser models, they will obv just point you out to the best that is available to date and you should 100% buy it. whats that? you are interested in that amplifier??? you want a review or thoughts about it??? here is our review/thoughts at CA: dont buy this 380$ alpine m1000 amplifier, the best one out there is xxxxx, sure it is 1,400$ but this is the one you should get.... see my point. very very rude and irritating. so you guys get off topic about how my question about reviews or thoughts on edead are dumb, so i fire right back with the med school life things, trying to make a point, it has nothing to do with anything. its simple, have a review or some thoughts on edead or have heard something about it, good or bad, great! share it with me. dont know anything about edead and all you know is don's sds is the best ever??? well good for you, but that is not what i asked. so while i can respect you taking time out to type that to me, at the same time im hoping you can now see where im coming from. and as far as not doing my homework, first off, all the edead people who ask the question get the same f'n answers. no real review of someone using edead, its more so "sds or ss or damplifier is better...." that is NOT what i asked. im sure royal purple oil is better for my car buy i dont want to pay 11$ a quart when im not looking for an ALL OUT performance product. for my specific situation im just looking for something that will work decent, therefore i stick to mobile 1. under your guys thought process you should only get the best of everything always... secondly they ARE 100% under new management for several months now so yes i do want a more modern review of the product as some of those edead posts are dated back to when bob barker and jesus hung out together. sigh. rant over.

Then move on bro.....you want good cheap deadener, Raamat is good stuff.

I have used them all and for price, is hard to beat.

They do bring up solid points though about price to sqft.....and doing only sections at a time and if done right, in the long run can save you money.
