whats wrong with this deck?

My cousin bought a jensen vm9224 double din h/u to install in his 03 silverado. Sonicelectronix gave us the scosche wiring harness (and the adapter to keep his factory chimes). When we first hooked it up, it wouldn't come on, then out of no where it comes on. So I double check the wiring and everything checks out fine, I then put it in the dash and turn it on and it's fine. I even turned it off and on a few times to make sure it was ok and it worked flawless. So I text him today asking if he had any problems so far and he said sometimes it own't come on sometimes til he drives his truck for 5 minutes then it comes on and works fine like it should. What's wrong with it? I've never seen anything like this. I thought it was a power problem, but the wires are crimped and organized nice and neat. Thanks in advance guys!!

Have you figured out your issue I just got one and the power button comes on but nothing on screen is that what urs did and how did u figure it out cause its frustrating specially spend so much on it and I bought it off someone else so I aint got no warranty please let me know

its the scoche harness..... BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY THIS. i had the same problem i switched to the axxess brand and no more problems. In short... RMA the schoche POS and get a different brand

Could just be a defective unit or a short in your electrical system check your fuses. The backlight on my dash for my AC cuts out time to time then cuts back on just replaced the fused and im A-Ok now
