Yep, asphalt based deadeners have a tendency to do that. P&S will do that too if it gets hot enough and you don't tape all the seams.i HATE how edeadv1 smells, and after awhile it'll kinda melt and drip brown & black stuff all over your trunk... it ruined my otherwise perfect amps. goodbye re-sale value //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
I found even thicker aluminum grade tape at Lowe's rated to over 200 degrees that I've been using on my trunk the past few days. For some reason I can't stop my compulsion to cover the seams even when I'm using a butyl deadener product. Well, it does look alot nicer even if it takes me forever to do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I've also got a new thing going where I am filling in hollow parts of the body and trunk lid with expanding foam, while still deadening inside and out of the hollow section. My trunk lid is DEAD, it's incredible... and soon the side walls of my trunk will be the same way! Hard lesson learned... do the foam a little layer at a time, I did one side as an experiment (failed) a whole can at once. Had to cut out the deadener and tape I used to keep the foam in place and wipe out all kinds of un-set foam goo -- not fun! But that is what experience is for, the other side has been smooth sailing so far.
Still using the Edead V1SE(2) stuff... still working very well. I'm pretty excited about comparing it to Damplifier when that arrives.
