What's with all the RE hatin' lately??

While I do agree with supa_c's post following yours Mark, I would like to say that I do take all of your posts seriously when it comes to subs because you are able to provide information like you stated about your wall setup. I would be nice if everyone else on the R bandwagon could do the same, and would make their arguments easily twice as strong. Example, what is Tobias's DD box really like? It has never been posted in one of these R comparos.
I'd like to see everyone had as much data as me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. I'd also like to see everyone be as objective.

Tobias, at this point, doesn't have anything in... still assembling equipment. He has had alot of setups in the blazer though.

and above 45hz ?Very little music will have bass as low as 28hz.
It was 100% non-directional... which is the whole idea. If I had a strong midbass, it would have really sounded kickass. The subs don't need to dip into the midbass range, at all. I'm not really a hardcore SQ guy, but I can appreciate good sound. I'd rather have a big hole than that horrid horrid bass behind you feeling.

It was a bandpass, so it had a bandpass response, below 28hz, it dipped pretty quick, and above 45, it wasnt nearly as steep. Did everything I needed it to do.

Does that mean I have to x mine over at 60-80? 80hz is entirely too high... so is 60 IMO.

All this talk of SQ, and then a high xover point... you'll get smacked if you try to xover that high at an SQ comp... the bass will pull so hard to the rear.

Audiolife's Firebird made it to World Finals......his IDW's were lowpassed at 90hz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

While I generally agree that for the daily joe who doesn't understand proper setup and doesn't have an adequate front stage, the lower the better.......in the right hands there's nothing wrong with crossing the sub high. It's all in the setup and tuning.

I think your mom is worthless.
completely uncalled for, but i laughed when i read it so it was kind of funny none the less.

Lol this thread went from an RE hatin thread to anti-R vs. Type-R thread :p. Great stuff. I'll say that mark's setup if he only made it louder and didnt really change the SQ too much (changing tuning or whatever) got really f*cking loud with 2 12's and an amp. and sounded pretty musical, better than my SX did no question. what was it mark like 148.x or something with the R 12's when you brought 'em to norris' for the dbDrag, with no tuning whatsoever....

For anyone who says mark's setup sounds like sh*t is a fool. I have heard the setup in person, and i'd say that his R's were way more musical than my SX even at 3x the volume. that sh*t screamed and sounded pretty good. with his ghetto hillbilly-*** ;P

He did a 150 even.

Which at the time was kinda funny, since everyone was telling him there's no way he could do a 150 on a TL DBDrag style //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif Hell, I was skeptikal (no pun intended //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ) about it until I sat there and watched him pull it.

I think your mom is worthless. If I remember correctly, doesn't Ho Problems have like 24 SE 12's?? Bottom line is...I don't give a **** what you or spkrman say about SE's....mine sound good and that's all that matters.
Give me 24 of ANYTHING and i'll make em loud. Quality > quantity. I saw the car at dB drag finals, now while impressive, similar scores could be done with less equipment and a properly setup ported box. Don't get me wrong though, tommy's (ho problems) truck is loud. But i'd hope that 24 12's would be loud. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

You're comparing RE's entry level sub, to Alpines second hardest hitter.
The RE is the entry level sub, SE is next up on the list. A formative comparison, even if the type-r is cheaper. And like i've said before, MY type-r outperformed MY SX. Will that hold true in everyone's setup till the end of time? No. But doesn't that give me a LITTLE right to say to people what I think would be the better performer? Why not?

Then i get bashed for saying it, from people stating that i don't have experience with that particular car/setup/etc. When the people bashing me have no experience with either the setup/car or the subs in debate. It's kind of ironic.
