What's with all the RE hatin' lately??

I guess I should have clarified. I would do the SEXXX conversion.. not straight to a XXX.
They'll always have soft parts laying around. Just because they don't make the old XXX anymore doesn't mean that they don't have customers who will occasionally blow theirs.

Either way, thats what I wanted to do.
They CANNOT recone the newer SE's with XXX soft parts.

The motors won't allow for it. Thus why the SX came out, as a "replacement" for the seXXX. (i have an seXXX, but its the older style SE which allowed it to be a recone).

When i first got my seXXX, dave said that i had to jump on them now because when the new SE's came out (2 years ago), he said they were going to be unable to make seXXX's anymore.

Thus, you can't blow a new style SE and have it reconed into a seXXX. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

stfu...you don't even have a system anymore. RE sucks huh?! Well I guess you better tell Steave Meade and Scottie Johnson that....and make sure you tell them to switch their RE subs to the Type R's...
steve meade and scottie J both have boatloads of power and ALOT of cone //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

He said the SE sucks.. not RE in general.

4 R 15's and meades power... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Or i'll keep my 2 and still be louder //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

Tell scottie j and steve meade to switch out their MT's for SE's then. I mean, that IS what you are talking about....right?

As stated many MANY times, every subs has it's place. Both of those setups have RIDICULOUS amounts of power and scottie j's vans are basically one note wonders (something that we've said time and time again that the type-r is not capable of)

So your arguments are worthless.

And 9/10 of these arguments previously posted in this thread are worthless unless you are looking at a sub purely based on its output volume.

That is the problem I have with this whole RE v Type-R deal, even though I have only heard the type R I have not heard a single point in its favor yet that hasn't been how much louder it is. If the consumer is not worried simply about getting loud, but is looking for some SQ then what? Even SBLAZER admitted that SE's sound better sealed. So then why is it that we still have people like dbhittin running around saying the type-R is just simply better? I think in this whole debate people just need to start qualifying their input more. I won't sit here and tell you that I've heard RE subs. But it gets old watching people just state something is better without proper reasoning and analysis of the product as a whole, rather then just a pressure producing device.

Tobias said the SE made a better sealed woofer, not that it sounded better than the R period.

For the great majority, the type R is a good SQ woofer. My wall with the 12's kicked some *** on country... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. Just because they have the capability to get so loud doesn't mean they can't also sound good.

When some people say a sub has good SQ its really hard to believe them....

Especially SPL competitors

Right, see now in your post it made more sense because you validated it with a type of music that made it sound good.

I know Tobias pointed out the SE was better sealed, but from that point on it just fell into being which driver had more output again.

Agreed. For example, how peaky is the frequency response of those 12's in a wall ported?
how bout flat from ~28 to ~45hz... and it actually had a slightly boosted low range, low volume testing would show the peak to be 30hz, lol... but it was still within 1.5db.

It really did sound good, I was extremely happy with that setup. For my listening tastes it was quite literally perfect.

That setup really broke the SPL mold... its hard to win playing 40hz and under, and at the same time be extremely musical. SQL at its finest.

You really had to have heard it to appreciate it.

While I do agree with supa_c's post following yours Mark, I would like to say that I do take all of your posts seriously when it comes to subs because you are able to provide information like you stated about your wall setup. I would be nice if everyone else on the R bandwagon could do the same, and would make their arguments easily twice as strong. Example, what is Tobias's DD box really like? It has never been posted in one of these R comparos.
