a recone is about $75 depending on the sub. reconing to different size is a little more.

as far as going from an SE to a XXX, the only thing reusable is the basket, and thats if you keep it the same size.... very expensive.

they could easily recone it to a SExxx(xxx soft parts), but you would need a xxx motor to make it a xxx. i doubt RE has any of these laying around anymore....

thats cool but in all honesty stay honest when you make generalizations. you can still harp without making an arguement you cant win by leaving it loose at the end. in real i think you would get along with squeak its just that on here he tries to make things as informatively correct as he can. me i just laff at alot of stuff i see that applies to pro/home audio that doesnt work in a car amungst other things. i dont say too much but then again im not a mod and i figure sooner or later the people would hear the difference anyway particularly if they get a cd (usac iasca disk) that explains what they should hear. some people dont care about it some do but to make a good judgement its good to know ALL sides. yes to many degrees i agree with you and mark but that cant be made into a "same situation for everybody". if you wanna be loud dont want to spend alot of dough and you cant build a box (experience) a type r in a tcab box is'nt bad at all. it does what you say it does but at the same time can be totally different than what another person wants. when i talk about kick panels and shit i dont necessarily expect people to do them but its good to know what can be done in a car and know what it sounds like. .. argueing is good to an extent just after a while the same arguement over and over again just makes it not mean as much. not only that after time it generates negitive thoughts both ways. so i say shake hands and fight about something else lmao

I guess I should have clarified. I would do the SEXXX conversion.. not straight to a XXX.

They'll always have soft parts laying around. Just because they don't make the old XXX anymore doesn't mean that they don't have customers who will occasionally blow theirs.

Either way, thats what I wanted to do.
