If we made the XS8 not look like the XS65, XS69 & XS57, then we would have a lone product with no thought or reason. It would be an anomol, almost like an afterthought with no family to go to.
The XS8 overall sounds incredible however, there were some things that Eric didn't not like about certain frequency ranges that effected the sound. So he is working on fixing the things HE doesn't like. Plain and simple if Eric is not happy with something about a product he designs, it WILL NOT get to market, period!

This whole thread has started to become a bash on Daath by others. I ask that you stop. He is frustrated and I can understand his frustration. I also understand that he is venting. He wants to build a system a specific way using a specific product. Unfortunately, the product, when tested, didn't meet our high standard of sound quality. If it had, the XS8 would have been released already. Things happen. When it is perfected, we will release it.

haven't got a chance to listen to my ultras much less hook them up. how are they compared to the neo cd2's?

im still debating on what i really want for my front stage. i would love to have the xs comps they are just so costly for me right now(not that chameleons arent though)

what would you suggest though. i'll probably have 150 to give to each side. i plan to buy a jl 300/2 to power it. i want a jl hd 600/4 but they are way to expensive.

ID is a product I've always wanted to toy with. While personally never owning them, I've had the pleasure of listening to their products in show rooms and in vehicles and was very pleased with the results. I hold up them up very close to my personal favorite JL.

I'm pleased to see the company putting quality first. I will never complain over this. Not extended waiting periods or release dates. The rationalle (sp) is 100% dead on. If you put out quality with the minimal risk of failures, your reputation becomes impecable.

I'm also pleased to see they made a line of amps. I'm big fan of keeping things the same brand. Just for purely aesthetic reasons. And if everything made by the same company is equal to eachother on deilvering in performance, why not?

My next vehicle set-up I do, I'd like to do all ID. My current vehcile with JL is set-up for daily listening and personal SQ/SP, with the ability to get loud. My ID system I'd like to make it SQL. The center piece will be three IDMax 12's, each recieving between 600-800 watts.

That's a long ways away, but I still look forward to it. Keep up the good work refining things. Any good business person knows it will pay off in the end.

i've never experienced the cd2s i went from cd1ev2 straight to ultras //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif and with those two there was a world of differnce.. i can't remember the exact words Eric said in the ID forum about the two but i do remember him saying that if you had the cd2 there isn't much of a difference to justify purchasing a set of ultras. he did say there was a slight diff but i can't remember what exactly.
