I have always been intrigued by ID's products unfortuanlty i have only had the pleasure of sampling a few of them the OEM mids and when you guys where cleaning house a year or two ago and sold off a bunch of oem subs i bought one of the 15" models i must say for being thrown together with spare parts or what not they were still willing to stand behind the product that went out there doors, they insured me that if there was ever a problem with it to contact them its still running strong in a friend of mines car

the point it... were tired of the false promises and hot air blown up our a$$. after everything is saod and done i will probably be getting the jl 8"s, but the seconf the new XS8's come out you can gurantee i'll be ditching the jl's. i love id... just wanted them to know i was tired of waiting.

Those are entry level comps. I'd suggest getting the XS drivers. I heard the 6x9s and 6.5s and they both sounded VERY nice.

I bought them as a budget set of components... Needless to say I have found other budget components I feel do a better job.

I understand you are tired of waiting as I'm sure many are BUT the fact remains...

If you want some rushed to market that is not right, you need to look else where. When we talk about new items coming out, have (or are working on) drawings. From the drawing stage, it goes to tooling. From tooling is goes to preproduction, then we develop working samples. If the samples don't give us the expected result, we redesign. This process does not happen overnight. We are in the process of adding 40 new SKU's to our line up for 2009. This is not a simple task for one person. Like I have stated earlier, we are not a big company with 10+ engineers and techs. We all multi-task. As a result, things are a bit slow to market. We want (expect) perfection. Remember that we (as a company) started as a bunch of guys that were IASCA SQ competitors.

Again, I understand your frustration but does it make sense to jump on to a public forum and spout off about it?

soooo... your saying that eric isn't happy with the result of the XS8? i thought it was a bad idea from the start making the XS8 identical to the the new XS line. i would've went with a compressed wooden paper cone. if it was me i'd make the XS8 totally unique to anything id ever produced

Where were you with your gigantic genius brain when they were designing it the first time? I bet if you would have been involved, it would be a miracle product. And be done by now. I salute you.

now then he didn't say he wasn't happy with the x8 being identical with the xs lines but he said that they weren't happy with the results they got from the tests they ran not once did they mention what they was unhappy with. it could have been the motor, basket, magnet, vc copper, tinsel or anyone of those things or many others. if your soo set on how you'd make the speaker go make one urself.
