Whats the proper way?

I currently have a Kenwood XR-1S powering a JL Audio 10W6 running in 2 ohms. I have 4 Gauge power wire from the battery to the Amp. Now, I am going to add a Kenwood XR-4S running 4 ohms to power my Focals. Question is this. Can I just used the 4 Gauge from the battery to a Dist block and then run 8 gauge to each Amp? Is that sufficient?

Thanks.

You are on the edge with those gauges, but it *may* work if the runs are short. Kenwood recommends 4 awg runs for *each* amp. Either run separate 4 awg to each, or run a 1/0 from batt to distro block and run 4 awg to each amp from the block - to be safe.

i'd say you'll be able to get away with 4 gauge to distro block then 4gauge to amps from the block.
Agree ^^^^. Especially if he can keep the run from batt to distro block as short as possible (mount distro block right at cabin entry point). This would work.
