had doc's prefer one style of redwing above all others. They are kinda ugly but man are they comfortable to me

Cheap shoes can last too, also all depends on how far you are willing to wear a pair of shoes lol. I'll wear em till they either make my feet bleed, or get wet in the rain, heck for a while I kept shoes for a good year or more after they would get my feet wet, just wore em in the summer when I knew I they couldn't get wet. Currently I got at 2 generations of generic Nike crosstrainer sneakers or whatever they are, were like $40 or $50 when I get them, don't matter but the old pair has lasted me a good 5 or 6 years and the newer pair is about 3 years old now and still look like new. Nothing makes me feel as good as a nice pair of dirty beat up high top work boots tied right up tight, can step on or in anything and never have to worry.

Bought time to make another pair.

I keep my shoes clean though, and shox last A WHILE. I have my last two pair. And they are oh so comfortable.

Also spent $140 on a pair of snake boots.

$140 on a pair of throwback MJ's in high school. Others, $125 DM's, and a pair of Redwing and CAT steel toe workboots. $130 New Balance running shoes that I've beat the hell out of, and they are still the most comfy shoes ever. Redwing, New Balance > Everything else.
