Quick question about disk defragmentor and Vista

Long story short, im cleaning up my computers and external HD last night. organized files, uninstalled some programs and whatnot. Defragged my desktop (XP) and the external.

BUT, i go to do defrag my laptop (first time since i bought it in july). I open up disk defrag, it analyzes the drives, and says "drive does not need to be defragmented at this time". Well, since i havent defraged it before, i did it anyways.

I started the defrag before i went to bed (around 1AM). I wake up at 9AM, and its still going. I come back from breakfast at 10:30AM and its still going. It stopped around 11AM, and after its done, it says "hard drive is in need of being defragmented" (i dont remember the exact line)

sssoo, i defrag again, and i get the same message, needs to be defragmented.

any ideas on whats up? or should i just ignore it?

I downloaded the auslogic defrager. much much better.

meh i'll just let it finish up in this defrag, and i'll leave it alone then. its just annoying for it to say it doesnt need to be defragged, but i do it anyways, and now it DOES need to be, lol

ya get a 3rd party defrag, i use o&o myself

I would suggest using something else to defrag. You won't want the same shit to happen every time you feel like defraging your laptop.
