Whats the most Power I can put through 2 Alpine Type R's???

I am with dustin on this. I dont know why you guys are telling him to send that much wattage to these subs. They are the 2003 model, not the new 2005. I wouldnt do more that 500 on each one. If you do get a high powered amp well over 1000rms, then watch your gains.

Get the Mtx... its the most powerful of the 3 and the type R's could handle its power in a proper ported box.

you would be surprised at how much a 03 model would handle (FOR BURPS)

I thru 1836 real world watts not claimed to one. Now granted it was for 2secs but it took it.. Took it out of the SPL box later that day and went back to jammin it with music.

Well Im no pro or anything, I just have a couple of Type R's in a quite professionally made ported box.

I dont want anything that will put my system at risk of damage, yet I want to get the most I can out of my subs without risking damaging them through overpowering.

I like the looks of the Alpine, and the rest of my systems Alpine, so in a way i would be happy to go for it, UNLESS the MTX will make a massive improvement without putting to much more risk on my subs.
