What's the disadvantages when running dual alts?

^^^^pft...that guy!!^^^^

cons are more $$ to spend and possibly more headaches to deal with when troubleshooting. Most people have issues running multiple batteries/alts.

Only have issues of your a noob. Most people DO NOT have issues running multi alts and batts... Hell almost everyone on this forum runs extra batts daily... But batts store power and alts make power!!! Alt > battery

alt's are more $$ than batteries.
Hell even batteries have gone up in price over the course of the years.

Dis hobby is expensive mane

Yea but batteries only last 5-7 years and then your out all your money... A good alternator will last a life time. U can buy an alt for $500 and 10years later still sell it for $350+... Alts are way worth the investment

Last year we took out tank charge agm batts that were 7years old and still loading testing fine. I replace my batts every 3 years song don't have problems
Replacing a working battery with another doesn't count.

Now if you have one that's 5-6 years old and on it's last leg, then I'll believe ya.

I was asking just to see if it places any added stress to the engine or any other mechanical operating part of the vehicle. Sorry if my question seems a little to noobish to you but I'm making sure I'm covering all my basics on this, because like boomintahoe stated this is quite an expensive hobby lol.

No worries bro.....we like to throw thangs at each other every now and then. But...we speak the truth too.

He is right tho....a new HO alt will get you a stronger electrical but be aware it takes $$ to get more/better power.

More alternators the more resistance when under a load. Nothing crazy will happen to your vehicle though
