And they can't seem to stick to any sort of cosmetic scheme. The 9887 theme is real nice and they're changing it it already.

They had the 4 buttons the left of the volume for YEARS. 2002 to 2005. 2006 they released the first 6 button units with the CDA-9856/9857/DVA-9861.

They tweaked it to be even more attractive for 2007.

PG is far from top notch in anyhing, I owned a Xenon, and a Tantrum. Compared to the old stuff like MS2125 and other M series as well as ZX series and titaniums, the new ones are crap. They dont demand as much money for them either

My main gripe is Alpine is their decision to not put optical out on 98% of their decks.

I don't even know what the purpose of an optical out is.

I remember when the Phoenix Gold M series were their bottom of the line...by todays standards they would be considered top of the line.... ....I've had several of the older MS series...I still have one MS275 I was thinking about using in an install soon....

Digital output = less noise/better quality.
