Whats the better deal a gp2500d or Bxi1608?

Which one puts out more power? Judging by fuse ratings, I would say the Bxi1608 is more powerful, but I've heard that the gp2500d puts out 1700 at 14.75. Now I'm pretty sure the the bxi1608 is not under rated at 1600watts, so is the crunch more powerful? What does a bxi1608 benchmark at?

Fuses:

The gp2500d has 2X50A

The Bxi1608 has 2X80A

Heard the new crunch are good, not sure about the one you're talking about here though. Brutus will most likely do rated power, no more no less
Yeah I know the new gp3000d-pro's are beast. I just don't need that kind of power

1700w with 100a of fusing.....doesn't sound right to me:sneaky:

COuld be insanely effiecient. But I doubt it, plus I dont think your going to get even close to 1700w since your systems probably going to be running at

Honestly I would go with the hifonics, I havent had a problem with the ones I've used yet!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I want to go with the crunch because it's cheaper and looks better. haha I know that's not the way to pick an amp but since these are so similar I think it wouldn't really matter.

Two questions unanswered:

Should I view the 1700watts at 14.75V as the max or rms?

How much does the bxi1608 actually put out (rms)?

The Crunch GP2500D is unregulated so the more juice you give, the more you'll see. It has a limit though. You'll see between 1200-1700 at 1-ohm. Far from 2500 but thats the max rating for the GP2500. Not sure about the BXi but I'm sure its close to rated power. The TXi is more max rated. I could be wrong.

so let's say the gp2500d does 1700 max

and the bxi1608 does 1600 max

Wouldn't this mean the rms are a follows

gp2500d --- ~1200 rms

bxi1608 --- ~1150 rms

I found this site

http://www.the12volt.com/info/recwirsz.asp

So it looks like the bxi1608 has close to the correct fuses. It looks like the most the gp2500d could put out would be ~600. Something does sound fishy here about the gp2500d

Some lines of amps at Hifonics tend to be overrated, so I'm not sure whether this one will be or not. Even if that's the case, and in the best case scenario, there would be a few hundred watts seperating the two, with the Crunch being more powerful. In theory, 1700 watts vs 1500 or so.

Yes, I have heard too that the new Crunch amps are supposedly good. I really have a hard time believing they put out even half their MAX rating.

1700 watts for $200, it doesn't make sense. Sounds like Lanzar, and so many other brands.

Both are class D amps, both have close to the same efficiency. One has 100a of fusing, the other has 160a. More fusing usually means more power.
that's what I'm thinking. Now if the bxi1608's weren't so tacky:crap: I think I'm just going to go with an a3000db -- only a little more $ and most say they put out 2000watts
