hello everyone, this is my first post on this forum. i need some help with what i think is a basic set-up. i have an old pontiac radio that was converted to play fm, has input for cd, and output for amplifier. when i had this radio professionaly installed some years back, the installer stated the signal from the radio to the amp was to much for the amp. i dont remember how much he said it was. anyway stereo dosn.t sound that great. need an amp recommendation that can handle the high signal from the radio. 2 6x9s in the back, and a couple of small speakers in the dash. thats my first problem. second is lots of static and alt whining. i have a 55 amp alt. from what i seen it looks like a single power line from the battery to the amp, and power to the radio from the fuse box. i am going to keep the radio, as it was kinda costly, and appears original. but need an amp that will handle the high signal and four speakers. next would be what kind of filters should i get for the power lines to the amp and radio. i put on a ground loop filter today, going into the amp, this didnt help too much with the whining and static. hope this wasn't too bad for a first post. thanks everyone.
