as for kicker for us SPL guys there releasing 2 new amps

5,000.1

5000watts @ 4 ohm rms @ 12.5 volt

class D close to 86.xx efficiency

Strapable

stable down to .25 ohm

non-regulated power supply

and i forget the special kicker name for it but it has some power supply that will still produce 5,000.1 @ 4ohms even with you STOCK Alt.... (i was told that from the canadian kicker reps)

and the 10,000.1

now i dont believe the kicker guys about these amps still producing their rms values with a stock alt but we will have to wait and see. i have seen photos and they look like the SX line of 2005.. i have been told the 5,000.1 is gonna be 2" longer then the kx1200.1 but 4" thicker and the 10,000.1 is a little less then 10" longer then the kx2500.1 and the same thickness

both looked to have 0 ga power/ground inputs but in the pics i did not have anything to compare the size too... the only major thing that grabbed in the pics me was the 5,000.1 is THICK and the 10,000.1 is LONG...

the kicker guys told me that they are not sure if kicker will put them in the 2006 sales brochures it might be special order items and yes i tryed to find out a price but they did not have the info on pricing yet but me be thinking not just your left nut BOTH!!!! and kicker has resigned the kx line and added a kx300.1 and SX350.1 the pricing is really good too $209 CND dealer cost for the kx300.1 and $235 CND dealer cost for the SX350.1 and the SX and KX lines have came down in price by round 7-15% dealer cost ..

if what you say about those kicker amps is true then i can stop frying my brain searching for subs..2 sx 18's and 2 of those 5k amps will do it for me..

and to the guy that wants to strap 2 of the 5,000.1 if the pricing is anything like the 1200.1 it would be a little cheaper to get 1 of the 10,000.1 then 2 of the 5,000.1's

this year i was gonna get 2 of the 1200.1 and strap them for 2400.1 but is was cheaper to get 1 of the 2500.1 and be careful member when you strap kicker amps you drop the impedence rite from the get go.. i am not sure if that will still be the case for the new amps...

also i forgot to add that kicker has came out with a end cap that will join 2 amps to look like one long amp like what rockford fosgate did..

The new kicker sub is a round L7, I don't see it taking out the W7 lol.

To the guy that mentioned strapping 5000.1s....Kicker is taking away the ability to strap amps this year. None of their amps will be strappable.

You can't create 10,000 RMS from the 80 amps coming from of your chevette's alternator.
