just needing a lil help on ideas here. a few weeks ago when i did my work log, installed the 0 gauge and 4 channnel amp, i've noticed a signifigant decrease in my low end. on My sub amp, i had the gains all the way down, now i had to turn them up to about 1/4 -1/2 to get the same bass response. i also had to turn the sub volume on the HU up to about 13 outta 15. i thought it may be that since i started running the 4 channel, that the midbass and highs had gotten much louder, so i had to compensate by turning the sub amp gains up just a lil to even out the sound...NOW heres the other problem. when i sit with my truck running, or even driving after about 5 minutes of solid music listening with volume about 3/4, the voltage is now dropping down into the 12's (while running). i never had this problem before except when i had the problems with my old fuse holder not making solid contact creating a lot of resistance. thats what i think may be happening here. first instinct is too check power and ground wires, making sure they are solid. before anyone asks, my x-over settings did not change. 80hz lo on the sub 80hz hi on the mids and highs. ssf set at 25 hz. sub is wired correctly. all settings have been checked, just been to busy at work to really get into the wiring check. any ideas?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

big three yes....only 4 gauge tho...still need to upgrade to the 0 gauge on that too. think that could be the problem? all 0 gauge evrywhere except the big 3?

its kinda hard to understand what your getting at. you did the big three with these wires? or did you just install a new amp?

if you did the big three, check your wiring. if your dipping into the 12's while driving, and NOT playing music, your alt isnt charging. bad connection? what kinda wattage is your electrical seeing, and what size alternator you got?

are you dropping in the 12's while bumping and once you stop bumping, the voltage works its way back up? or does it just sit there at 12?

if you got a dmm, check your battery voltage, AND check the voltage coming out of the alternator. if there is a big difference, you need to change the charging wire

i did the big three when i installed my system with 4 gauge a while back, but since upgraded the main power run to 0 gauge leaving the 3 alone. i have the stock 100a gm alternator. its only dropping once i'm bumping for a while, then works its way back up after turning the volume down.....if that helps....maybe i should do my big 3 over again with 0 gauge?

found some corrosion in the 12 ga speaker wire from sub to amp...guess tomorrow i'll put the DMM on it and see if this is the problem....noticed now that the problem started about the time i switched from my Stinger expert series 12 gauge to cheaper Audiopipe 12 gauge....anyone have any ideas?

added a second run on the big 3 with 2 gauge wire......guess what tho? my ground had come loose...couldnt figure it out......amps were running hot and MEGA voltage drops when the bass would hit...i'm talking from 14 v to 12 flat......checked the ground on the amps to chassis and sure enuff it was loose.....what a cluster f@ck!
