Okay, let me ask a more specific question then, would you all consider a new battery, and new alternator (stock 80 amp) a good start?

i have the big 2, 8 runs of 1/0, 2 big batteries and a stock alt and i consider mine good.

Its completely relative to the amount of power you are running.

based upon power required, a large enough alt to keep up with your amplifires power needs, big 3, propper wiring and a good battery or batteries to help with power demands (engine on or off). should give you years of dependable use

IMO, if your voltage holds steady at 13.5+, then your electrical is adequate.

ok, so do you guys THINK with my new alternator and bat. that I can 1000 rms? I was running about 600-700 rms just fine a couple weeks ago, but I want a little more power....

IMO, if your voltage holds steady at 13.5+, then your electrical is adequate.

Would that be at the battery or amps? Just wondering.

If it's that at the battery and not at the amp, your amp wiring is inadequate. Probably on the ground side.
