thats what i do. higher impedance for daily and switch it for comps. mines .35 burp and 1.35 daily.2 for daily .5 for comps
It simply doesnt work like that in this case due to the significantly less power running through the coil...it wouldnt be hotter at all or people wouldnt wire higher impedences if they dont want to overpower their subs (dont want to fry the coil)...My statement that resistance creates heat? THIS.....thats what i do, run my aq2200s at 2 ohms daily, and .5 them for the comps2 for daily .5 for comps

If you use a an amp that runs 1000 w at 1ohm and do .5 it will maybe do 1500 watts with more distortion and will cause MORE heat in the amp than it would with 2 ohms. If you go at 2 ohms you might get 800 watts or so. The amp will run cooler plus play cleaner music. I think you should do a little more research there buddy. By the way I don't do caraudio in oklahoma, instead I do high end home theaters plus allot more than you can wrap your head around
