Whats an upgrade I can do to get my system louder?

Usually i don't even read threads like this before responding, my bad.

That said, more port is better from an SPL perspective, and a larger box will almost always have more gain near tuning than a smaller one (until you reach the point of diminishing returns, or the box gets just plain too big for the subs). Plus reducing vent velocity will gain him some loudness due to better coupling between the port and the surrounding air edit: as well as increased radiating area.

^nuh uh... don't be like that.

i'd like to hear what you have to say. i'm not an expert on this stuff, but i know a fair lil bit and i always like to learn more...

A larger enclosure doesnt mean its going to be louder.

It will boost the low end but your peak probably wont change.

If you glance at graphs in LEAP and look at the enhanced Q design you see that the low end is virtually not there but when you go into the higher notes its much louder than lets say a ButterWorth, which has much better lows than the Enhanced Q but not as good highs.

The problem with havbing custom subs like the DD/RE is you usually dont have exact t/s params that you can use in a probram like BB6P or LEAP to fine tune the enclosure for optimum results.

OK, maybe i'm just confused because with a 12 db/octave rise with a corner of 75hz the increased low end seems to raise the peak due to the increased cabin gain. I kept tuning & power the same, but tripled box size.

On the file i'm using a 12 db/octave HP filter at 22hz keeps excursion within xmax, while the peak actually increases.

It doesn't work quite this way in real life?

anyways.. lol. Any other recomendations on what to do? I heard some one say that there was like some sound deadining foam you spray on the metal of the car that can be picked up from like home depot/lowes, he doesnt know that name of it though.

If you like processed overpowering bass notes, its definetly worth it

What do you mean by "processed and overpowering"? This guy said he wanted more bass. I think "overpowering" is a good way to describe significantly more bass. I'm thinking of getting an epicenter. Is there something about them that I don't know?
