What you guys think

You clearly don't know much about the GCON.
have you ever tried my suggestion? Ive tried what all of you are talking about and I had poor results... many people think that big enclosures are efficient. not so true, they get sloppy on the lows. but like I said, if you choke down the port area (which you have to be careful with your port velocity) and have a larger enclosure, it will absolutely destroy the lows. Ive been tuned in the mid 40s and have played down to 18 without unloading and still packing one heck of a punch... just my opinion though, none you have to listen to me and quite frankly I dont care, just trying to make a suggestion.

I understand where you are coming from but why would ssa put up poor specs? And all subs are diff, correct? I really would like @denim ; to pitch in as of my knoledge i cannot find anything on these subs

Your port area is good, and the enclosure size is about perfect (going a bit bigger wouldn't even hurt). SSA's recommended enclosure volumes are accurate. GCONs perform well in large enclosures.

I did not say that they are poor. I said that they are very generic. seeing that you have a trunk (im assuming) you would be better off with a smaller enclosure and a smaller port. see, what you people do not realize is that putting a ported enclosure in your trunk creates a sixth order, the enclosure, being the front chamber, should be smaller with a smaller amount of port area. now what is so difficult about the trunk is that you must find the correct ratio between enclosure size (front chamber) and the space left over in the trunk (rear chamber). but like I said, these are merely suggestions.

Protege5 it is a hatch technically a wagon... So your theory is only in a trunk?? so with me having an open area like a hatch or a wagon i will be fine, in your eyes? just wanting to understand where you are coming from what i am getting at is i have a good setup for my car but not for a trunk? also this enclosure wouldnt fit in any trunk i have ever seen...

no i just dont want to change my name lol i ****** a valve in the stang i sold it r.i.p lol didnt wanna deal with it... so does my vehicle change your opinion about the box?

seems like you really choked the port in the corner of the L. i could be wrong but thats something i always try to avoid

ya i guess we'll just have to wait and see i guess really this hobby is just about trial and error, until you get it right and it sounds best to yourself... since @denim ; :furious: dont want to jump in

well u have a fairly large 45 degree in the outside corner. u have a 90 degree on the inside corner. so u dont have a consistant 4" wide slot
