What would it take to beat 4W7s??? Ramos, Bassma, Audiolife, Jlaine, JLman, Ranger???

i just looked around at the websites...which of the following would be the loudest:

2 kicker solobaric l7 15s

2 blueprint series 03 18s

2 kicker comp vr 18s

3 alpine type r 15s

Which one is loudest depends on the install, type of enclosure, and power. I can offer my opinion of which has the potential to be louder. IMHO it would be either the L7's or the blueprints. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Locally, there are 3 people with W7s. Two of them have one 13.5 and are hitting in the upper 130s. The second one has 2 13.5s and hit a 141 point something last comp. Now...comparable to another system in Durham (2 Shivas with a JBL 1200.1) it is a horrible comparison. The single 13.5s are hitting in the upper 130s (usually about 138) and are getting beat by a system that is consists of 2 12 inch Shivas that are $125 a piece. Now, I know what your thinking. Crappy install...well, one of the 13.5 systems and the Adire system were installed by the same place, by the same 2 installers. Now you tell me, which would you rather have???
Apples to oranges...

JL didn't design this woofer solely based on SPL output. Basing that woofer solely on a dB reading is like buying a Viper and complaining about the lack of cup holders...

To quote a friend... anyone can make a car fart...

BTW, the SQ was worse than the Shivas...

i heard a demo of the W7 at a local car audio chain, and the box came from the jl audio company, there was a 10w7 and a 12w7, and then they also had other various subs from the store. While playing with everything, i think the SQ isn't really all that impressive. The 15W3, or the 2 12W3 they had sounded much much better

Your wanting to do it with 2 subs? Well its not easy but can be done. I just measured in at 156 dbs a few days ago with 2 bd1000.1s on a 15 DD 9500. This thing is no joke I have yet to hear a sub with as mean of spl as this it has vurtually no sq but hey if you just want to beat him in dbs i say spend half on these and take your time and suprise a whole hell of alot of people and win tons of comps. Hell ones too much for me i cant stand it its so loud.

OMG there are alot of choices here... I would venture to say if you have the money that Brahma's would be the way to go.. 2 15" brahma's with the right install and plenty of power you could beat him in SQ/SPL I think. Money wise I would go with the Blueprints they are so well priced I just dont think you can beat them.

I heard 2 12" W7's in a local audio store the other day and they sounded muddy and just wrong. The shop said it was cause they didnt have the right power to run them and made up some other excuses but I think they are full of it, they had lots of other subs hooked up with the EXACT same conditions and the L7's were by far the loudest and sounded the best. Shit out of RF, Kicker, Eclipse, and a few others the W7's sounded the worst.

Originally posted by jtmoney well my problem is that I wanna beat him in SQ AND SPL, thats why we have been talking about RE XXX )
I would still say that if you want to beaty him in both, go with the RE XXXs. These are great "crossover" subs, and will set the pace for many of subwoofers to come.

Have you personally auditioned these woofers or basing them off of specifics alone? I've been browsing around researching the woofer, and to be honest, I'm not very impressed or very happy with how they are marketing things, and the driver is likely not going to be impressing me at all if the specs I've seen are factual. I'm still trying to get a straight answer on what list of parameters I've seen is actually correct...

What size enclosure, amount of power given, vehicle applied in, and listening material please... I need some background information on this driver as one is coming my way soon...
