What would it take to beat 4W7s??? Ramos, Bassma, Audiolife, Jlaine, JLman, Ranger???

1. Same vehicle

Only variance:

For SPL testing, both drivers will be set to be optimized for the car it is in. For SQ testing, both drivers will be in their ideal SQ alignments for the vehicle they will be applied in.

We won't allow any holes in the comparison... The RE should hold up well from what I've seen in terms of SPL, SQ will be determined on the date of the test.

I believe half of his problem stems from me casting doubts on a recent purchase that he made without ever listening to them... That would irritate me too some, but I'd not go to the extent that he is to try and be confrontational about the matter. As the woofer is practically virginal in terms of being in the market, I'd say anyone saying that it has amazing sound quality needs to be questioned right now, until more factual users get out and about... Regurgitating what you've heard someone else say that someone else said is a great way to create hype, but not to provide true information...

w7 sucks for 2 reasons. A price B you need midbasses to MAKE the music that the w7 doesnt do BUT would be great for a hometheater hehehe. its clean where it plays but i would take a L7 over it....now i will admit i havent heard ALL w7's in ALL boxxes but so far to me it sounds like a sunfire sub with the gain turned all the way up

When you have it and actually have something to back your claims, I'm fine with your report... right now you have no report, so saying it has great sound quality and output right now is nothing more than false information... Or to be more blunt, it is lying.

I have one coming, but I didn't buy one, it's being given out for our use in Momentum, our online magazine, for review. Bigbassman will be doing the SPL portion and I will be tackling the sound quality section. I will not post the information here, but I will let you know when it goes online in Momentum, I'll just give you the link to go read it...

Hey,

If your willing to spend alot of money than I would suggest you get 4 of the Eclipse 88120TiDVC or 88150TiDVC...hey are very expensive but the RMS on them is 750 watts per coil..Therefore, you could run 1500 watts RMS to each one...Also, for the Amp you could go with 2-3 SoundStream Tarantulas.

-This setup would be EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE but if you have cash to spend it would beat 4 JL12w7's

I don't know... I own L7 15's, and while they are monster SPL subs, I don't think that it compares very well with the W7 for SQ. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love my L7's but they would not be my choice if I was going to build a SQ system. The 12W7 I heard sounded great. It wasn't the loudest 12 that I have ever heard or anything, but it did sound crisp and clean. I guess it just depends on the application. I think that it's a good woofer, just too much money.
