What would it take to beat 4W7s??? Ramos, Bassma, Audiolife, Jlaine, JLman, Ranger???

Originally posted by ramos Okay i metered the monster last night....750w it did a 140.1db. With 3000w ( i had to try it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ) it did a 153.7db.

IMHO yes it is. Especially considering the price difference between the two. I can almost buy two bluprints for the price of one inhuman. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I agree, I think that the Blueprints are great subs, I have heard only one setup with them, and I was impressed. I can honestly say that I have never heard inhumans, because of their cost, nobody around my area will mess with them.

My local shop has a termlab meter.

It was in he backseat of my 7 series BMW. The box wouldn't fit in the trunk //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif

The mic was on the dash. A great man once said real men do it on the dash //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I bet I could do some serious damage in port wars //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I'll have to try that later. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That sounds really good on the dash, and that meter. How many cubes and how much power and port area?

3.5 net after port, bracing, and basket displacement. The port is 12"H x 8"W x 20 1/4"L If my calculations are correct. That's just under 100 square inches of port area. The 140.1 was with 750w and the 153.7 was with 3000w. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

4 12W7's ?? THAT IS CRAZY!

and i thought ONE 10w7 was expensive !

All someone would have to do is a little research before putting an extravagant amount of money into 4 W7s. I could think of hundreds of other stuff I would rather have than the W7.

Technology, research, patents...

These all come at a cost, JL has to make that cost up in order to make the woofer a valid product... At the same time, you are purchasing a W7, their 'flagship' woofer, in essence, it doesn't have to be attainable by everyone... if it is a flagship product, it is meant to be top of the heap.

They have some excellent technology inside the driver, how well it equates to sound I'm unsure, as every time I get to a place that has one, it's sitting on a shelf with a baffle on it, never in a box or hooked up. Try and ask and I get looked at funny...

Ohh well.

I know that feeling. There is one shop around here that sells JL. Everytime I go in there I see the all mighty 12W7 sitting in it's pristine baffle. That's it. No box, no power, no other demo's of it. I had to drive 2 hours just to here one. And was dissapointed after the trip. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif I asked at the local shop about a demo. The guy looked at me like I just asked to sleep with his wife //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

Locally, there are 3 people with W7s. Two of them have one 13.5 and are hitting in the upper 130s. The second one has 2 13.5s and hit a 141 point something last comp. Now...comparable to another system in Durham (2 Shivas with a JBL 1200.1) it is a horrible comparison. The single 13.5s are hitting in the upper 130s (usually about 138) and are getting beat by a system that is consists of 2 12 inch Shivas that are $125 a piece. Now, I know what your thinking. Crappy install...well, one of the 13.5 systems and the Adire system were installed by the same place, by the same 2 installers. Now you tell me, which would you rather have???

Originally posted by kixazz2529 would you reccomend the Blueprints or the shivas or solobarics?? i would be getting two 15s....
Shivas are 12s

Which Solos???

If its the L7s then them, cause of the cone area

If not, the Blueprints are great subs.
