KnuKonceptz is good. 12AWG is plenty for Amp to Subs. 16AWG is good from Amp to Speakers.

to run power wires from the batt to the amps do people usually have to drill new holes to fit 0awg wire or would i be better off trying to fit it through an existing hole that has a grommet?

Existing hole with a grommet would be ideal. But you can drill a hole and use a grommet if you can't find one.
