Depends on what any given economy can support. Don't rule out a stronger country just going in and taking over the Middle East if push comes to shove.

i didnt take time to read through all the e-penis bullshit in the last few pages so this might have been stated already, but the US is expecting a huge increase in price over the next year or two, then its supposed to come back down. How much down is unknown, but predictions say it wont ever be as cheap at it used to be, more likely around $3/gal average.

And this info is coming from an environmental engineer that works for the government.
