I built a box for 2 w3v2 12's. Its a ported box tunded to 38 herts. I did dual 3" inch ports 8 inches long in a box that is 2.6 cu.ft. per sub. Let me tell you guys, it sounds like shit. I dont know why. I build it to where the was a setup like a slot ported box but going into dual 3" ports. its like the subs have no bass, they just move alot of air. I dont get it. What is wrong here

first off if your box is 5.2 cubes you (2.6 /sub) and duel 8 inch ports your tuning is more like 22hz

iassume your using tubeing as your port ?

and you need to post a pick cuase i am not sure what your saying slot port into round ports

I cant post a pic. I dont know how. Go to http://www.audiobahn.com and look in their tec department. Go to calculators and u will find that in a 2.6 cu.ft. boc ported at 38 herts with two 3" diameter ports would need to be 8.1.... something long. SOmeone help me with my pics. i drew one, and i can figure out how to get it in here

2 3" ports isnt enough port area for 2 12" subs, that is more than likely your main problem.

2 4" aeroports per sub minimum is what I would do, or build a slot ported box.

Was it two 3 inch ports per 2.6 chamber= total four 3 inch ports

or

Was it one 3 inch port per 2.6 chamber= total two 3 inch ports

That's 14 Sq. Inches per driver. Should be enough. Plug it into BBP6.0 and I get a max vent velocity of 14m/sec@ 20Hz, which it should not even be playing at. My guess is a phasing issue, or subsonic set too high.

I turned my old banpass box into a huge ported box too. 5.6 ft2 for 2 12's with 4 2.75 ports 9 inches long...sounded like garbage too man...
