For two Kicker 07CVR10-2? How many watts do I need and what brand should I get? I want something durable that will not have problems.

I'll be getting either a slotted or ported box. Not sure yet. Is it true ported boxes make it easier to blow out your subs? Any recommendations for box brand? (asking here so I don't have to create new thread)

depending on the voice coils i'd say maybe a kicker 750.1? if you can wire them to 2 ohms that is... have a box built, tons of builders on this site, prefabs ****... and i've never heard about ported boxes blowing subs....

Thanks. Do people generally have the same amp brand as their speakers/subs? Just wondering, I'm a total noob to this stuff. What exactly is ohm? Is it how loud/powerful the bass is?

negative, http://www.bcae1.com/ read around here and you will learn, as far as keeping subs/amps the same, i mainly suggested kicker because i like their products, pretty solid stuff, not too badly priced and underrated (there is ALOT better stuff out there if you've got the cash)... alot of the cheaper brands of amps tend to advertise that their amps put out more than what they really do...

no, they would sound best with 700-800... plus knowing the impedance of the subs will help alot... that amp you listed will only give the subs about 350-400 tops @ 4 ohms.

Ported boxes don't blow subs, people blow subs... sounds like the slogan "guns don't kill people, people kill people" haha

and yeah the kickerzx750.1 would be a nice combo

Get the Dual 2-ohm subs and wire them (series/parallel) with this amp:
