What tuning specs for RE 8's

Im going to design and build a box for SVT RELAMPAGO soon.

It will compromise of 4x RE 8's ported.

I searched around but couldnt find much.

Those with experience, what type of enclosure did u guys get good results with?

Recommend is .5ft^3 @ 35hz

we were thinking of pushing it a bit to .6ft^3 per sub tuned to around 36hz.

Also planning on running aeros, possibly 2x4" aeros

oh yeah and this isn't a full out spl box.

He wants to retain some SQ while being able to sound adequately loud

I have 2 RE8's in a 1.5^3 box tuned to 35hz....and must admit they sound pretty good.

I did .5 each at 33hz. I wouldn't go much bigger than .5 each, they are easy to bottom out

They will also be receiving 900 watts total from a pg qx900.1

gains adjusted according to the subs liking ofcourse

I wouldn't go over .5 then. I had about the same power on mine and I could make them bottom out before they ever got stinky from the power

alright, its always easier to go smaller.

What about ports?

I think 2x4" aeros might be too much for a 2 cube box

but 2x3" aeros is to small in my calculations

yeah, probably wouldn't fit unless they were external

when i tested the re on the .6cuft test box i didnt hear any crazy bottoming out. i didnt give it alot power thou.

Its tiny but came out pretty solid.

I only bottomed mine out occasionally once I learned their limits. Good part is they are cheap so if you crash a couple they aren't too bad to replace //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

we can make that happen later and yeah that little box is pretty badass. the few people that I've showed it to really like it. they are like" how the **** did he do that curve" haha .
