What to look for when buying 6 x 9 Car speakers?

I am looking to buy some new ( but quite cheap ) car speakers ( 6x9)

My stereo is quite good , its a panasonic 50 x 4 .... however, i dont know what this means.

Any info appreciated!

I think 50x4 means it can put out 50w MAX x 4 channels, safe bet around 20w rms per channel off a deck which is pretty standard. If you're looking for cheap speakers to replace stocks, take a look at the low end pioneers. they are cheap and are a big improvement over stock and runs fine off the deck

Walking into a car audio shop, and listen to their speakers on the board. Pick the one you like most. Don't buy a very expensive speaker as the rest of your audio setup seems pretty basic (no amplifier).

your deck is 18 watts rms at best not 20 rms,also look at 2 way or coaxials 6x9's only they will sound the best,do you have a budget ?
