What to look for in a subwoofer?

On the stats sheets for each subwoofer, can someone tell me what to look for? Should i look for the lowest frequency response and the highest db rating? Thanks

You should look for a sub that handles the power you want to feed it. You should look for a sub that will sound the way u want a sub to sound. You should look for a sub that fits in the space u want to fit an enclosure. You should ask better questions.

But Norcal was close, it all depends on what you are looking for in a subwoofer.

But, rather than listening to people who only really know about a 1/4 of what they claim to know about "sub design" on here, I think it would be a better idea if you went and picked up "The Loudspeaker Design Cookbook" by Vance Dickason(sp?). You'll learn everything you will need to know and more from that book.......because the answer to your question isn't a "short" answer, and there is no "one thing" to look for in a sub.
