What to do with factory cd player?

I am replacing the strereo in my 98 Toyota Corolla CE. From the factory the cd player part is seperate from the actual stereo.

Is there something I can buy to replace the stereo part, like a larger cubby or panel or something?

Here is what I am dealing with:

Thanks for any advice!

I've seen where the factory CD players were used for a radio toss at some car audio events...but if it works you may want to put it on ebay and sell it for extra money...another option...in those corollas you can leave it in the dash as a dummy radio decoy to fool theives...maybe some sorta cover over your aftermarket or use a phantom face deck like Alpine...Kenwood or Sony use to have that look pretty much blank to the prying eyes.....

oh i just found that pic on cardomain.com theres are lots of 98 corrollas on there with that piece, maybe they came factory like that. talk to your local toyota parts dealers.

I'd just keep it. You may want to get rid of it one day. Then you don't have to let your good HU go with the car. I'd rather buy a car with stock shit and do my own thing than go off of someone else's stuff. Unless it was super high end, but 9 times out of 10 they are pulling that good shit out before they get rid of the car.
