How to wire neon

do you already have a trunk light that comes on when you pop yer trunk?

if so, you should be able to just tap those into the trunk light's positive and negative, bidding that those neons dont draw too much current through the stock wiring (which they shouldnt)

thats what i had said but the pos is constant on a trunk light and there is just a tilt switch in the light fixture itself so i retracted.

it should still work //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif he just needs to make sure he taps the wire in the right place (not before the switch)

in my car its all built together the light and switch ... .. but his may be different ?

triggered lights in cars are usually wired with whats called a negative trigger or positive trigger. Let me guess.... theres probably 3 wires in the harness... you need to test the wires, the third wire, will be either negative or positive when the light is triggered..

Its been a while since I have done that though.. so it might be a little different, but that is how I remember it

What Kind of Car is it? you should use the trunk or dome light (most SUV's) trigger to trigger a relay to turn your neons on and keep them issolated from the cars electrical system because some cars dome/cargo lamps are powered from the BCM and any issues with the neons connected directly to these leads could damage the BCM

i dirve a bmw 2006

im a little confused on how to do this i guess, i will have to probably buy an exterior switch and just turn it on that way
