Since the type E is the lowest of the line, I dont understand how it can get so loud. It would be lucky to see a 150watts, and its a 12'' in a 4.1 cube box ported at 45hz. Its loud as balls and rivals my ttwo 10'' tc7s off 1300watts.
he isnt sayin it is the loudest system ever......he is sayin it suprized him by being as loud as it is

I had an Obcon box loaded with a couple JL 12's for one of my first systems and it was loud as all hell. I always thought it was just one of those freak things.

Its just a company that makes prefabs. I actually liked my old one. they are decently built also. let me see if I can find a link for some.

Acoustics make a HUGE difference.

A crown vic w/ 2 15's on 1200wrms can be destroyed by a CRX w/ 2 8's on 500w.

Usually though, the box is a huge part. Surprised it sounds that good, but that is a good thing that is suprized you.

i just built a ported truck wedge box yesterday with a 10" type E. 1.6 cubes @ 36hz. sounds pretty good for such a little bugger.

I know I did, it was in 2.25^3 ported at 33, subs faced rear up and in the cabin, but the box had but ports fired out the side which I HATED (was talked into it by someone at ssa.com....) but it was still loud as hell because it was in a 2002 Honda civic SI. Acoustics I would say pretty close to the same.

Honestly Im going to go out on a limb and say its not that bad for DD. Some songs and notes done quite have that "punch" but I also think its because its off a poweracoustik amp (just using it till I get my new sub and can use my nice amp, this is all my buddies stuff, so when I get mine I give it back but the box.

Well see thats the thing. The Type E is in a Jeep wrangler with a soft top, and the TC7s were in a 2002 Honda civic SI which is a hatchback.
