What subs for my amp?

Here is my amp: audioque.com/AQ1200D-Amplifier_p_30.html

I have a box that fits 2 12 inch subs. I currently have 2 alpine 12 inch subs, which play nicely when the weather is cold like now, but in the summer I can't bump. It sounds like faint rattling after I turn the volume past 18. The subs won't move, but you can hear something on the inside rattling... So I know they're messed up.

Anyways I want something that BUMPS HARD!!! Mirrors rattling, the whole 9 yards. I want the neighbors to know it's me when driving.

lol its better to match your amp to subs and box then to focus on 1 or 2 subs. That sub in the correct box would shake everything lol but ude need to have a new box made for it, your current box wouldnt work. But it would be well worth it, if u want to use your current box then we would need to know how big it is. Well need L, W, and H of your box

Yo I just read somewhere that the more subs, the better. So maybe I should just buy like 4 $50 subs and boxes for each, and my **** would be insane?

This only works sometimes and the subs are grossly overpowered for only a few seconds at a time because its most likely a burp setup.

What type of vehicle do you have and what is your budget?

I drive a 2005 Saturn Ion 2. I'm willing to spend...... around maybe......... $300

You just need to find a builder near your house for your sub box. Honestly no matter what sub/subs you go with you need to have a box built for them. Prefab boxes rarley are the correct size for the woofer. But that DD sub mylows mentioned it a very high end sub, get a ported box made for it and you wont be dissapointed

You can start by calling you local shops and asking if they will buld you a box to subwoofer spec, dont let anyone charge you more then 100-150bucks though

Hows ur Saturn going? LOL not to many of use out there. U got lets say 1k on tap after imp and box rise, voltage drop. That would just tickle that 9512 which if feed with the correct amount of power would **** your alpines. We have big trunks as you already know "go threw the inside to fit box" you can get alot in there. I would look into a single 15. Something like a Fi SSD 15, Sa 15, Skar 15 or so on that kinda power will make some stuff move lol. Sub up port to the rear is the spot for our cars...

Ion is running good. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Slow, but good.

You sure 1 15 inch sub is better than 4, lets say 12 inch subs? I just searched that 15 inch skar and it runs for around $200. You sure that will hit harder than 4 $50 subs?

Also, I have no idea how to match subs with my amp. Is it the ohms or something I should be looking for? I'm a dumb blonde when it comes to car audio.

I would take one quality sub over 4 POS's any day of the week... That Skar in the proper ported box will shake ur car **** near apart. My bumper has been shaken loose, rear upper taillight assembly has had to be glued back up, rear view mirror broke off. Had to remove all panels inside of car other than doors as they rattled loose. Are cars seem to come apart easy LOL.. If you go the single sub route you will want dual2's so you can run it at 1ohm its alot cheaper to find power at 1ohm then say 2ohm.

Link to different wiring options based on what ohm subs you get - http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp

P.S throw 500+lbs in the trunk then imagine how slow your car would be.... That's me.

I got an aq1200 with a single ported larger box and have been debating for weeks what sub to go with. pumper I must give you credit I was going to start an exact thread but hate asking too many questions. do you want to the neighbors to say "there he goes he got a system" "or that system is loud as fvck thats him" I am going with a single 12 and been checking out the following

audique hdc3 12

ia deathrow

ia death penalty

some people ask the question when is cone area no longer a factor. my question is when is a sub no many how many watts you put in it no longer a factor and must move to more cone area.

My question to you OP, why would you want to play loud music in your neighborhood, when 1. its just plain disrespectful and 2. it sticks up a red flag that says rob me!!!, they already know where you live, no need to let them know theres valuables to be stolen. My system is pretty **** loud but no one within a 2 mile radius of my house knows. Do you live in the country or something or are you just 16 and a complete asshat?
