I have been looking at some Audiobahns for the 3 12' audiobahn box that i box to fit my car really snug and how i like it. I wanted to the Audiobahn Alums but they wont fit how i want them in my car, so now i dont know what sub to go with. the budget is somewhere between 3 and 4 for the subs. i know i have to run them on a mono amp, so im thinking about running a 1200 mono kenwood. i know a little about car audio, not a whole lot, but im willing to learn. any advice/help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

they dont fit in the box. i have a 96 intrepid that i bought a couple months ago from an old couple. they have a house in flrodia and live there half the year so the car sat in a garage for 8 months out of the year til the day i bought it, so its pretty clean. there is a spot in the trunk closer to the back seats where its not as wide as the whole trunk, and thats where the box is going. the space is 36 in. and the box in 34 and theres about 3 inches left between the top of the turnk and the box. theres 3 spots for 12's and 2 of them on the side are angled, and the back on the Alum subs wont fit into the box.

Its not ported, and i dont know the mounting depth exactly. i know the alum will fit in the center spot but not either of the 2 side ones.

well your best bet is to measure the mounting depth, and then just find some decent subs for $100 a piece that will be under that mounting depth. Also, its hard to run 3 subs to a 1 ohm load, you will have to find some specific voice coil configurations if you want full power out of that amp.

Like i said, im somewhat of a nub to car audio because of the fact that this is my first car. Some of my buddies have subs and I've helped do some stuff, but I don't really have personal experience or anything.

First of all, what is inverting the subs? And second, I know a lot of mixed opinions on Audiobahns and I've heard they crap out, but the fact sitll remains my bestfriend has two 12 audiobhans and they bang like none other. I would realy like some more opinions on what to get. Right now I think im going with either an audiobhan alum in the center or a jl w3 in the center and two lesser audiobahns on the side. Any opinions on that setup? Also, I really know even less about amp setups, i would really appreciate some more help and/or advice. my AIM is jaehut24. Thanks again to everyone

man audiobahns are good if you just care about loudness but if you like it to sound good they're not your best bet, i'd either go with some pioneers like stated above or maybe a cupple of the new alpine type rs or sumthin definatly not audiobahn, when iwas starting out i bought all audiobahn stuff and was very unpleased, just my 2cents

ok well ive decided on what im getting. and against the various opinions im going with audiobhan's. if im not happy with them after a month or two then ill probably sell them. but the setup will be a an Alum in the middle, with two flame series on the sides. now im deciding on the amp setup. i think im eaither going to run them all through a mono 1200, or bridge the 2 side subs on one amp, and run the Alum through a mono. please help me out wiht this because when it comes to amps i dont know really anything. thanks for the help guys

NO!!!!! dont mix and match subs. And using different amps to power them is a potential disaster.

You want 3 identical subs. I dont know why I didnt think of it, but just invert all of the subs, meaning attach them to the box so the magnet is pointing towards the outside.

also, I would go with the alums you wanted at first because they are a dual 6 ohm voice coil configuration, meaning you can wire them all to exactly 1 ohm. That increases your amp options substantially and decreases the amount you will have to pay for an amplifier. I was going to go with the alums for my first setup, and I was thinking about getting 3 of them just because of that configuration. I think you can get 3 of em on ebay for like $280 shipped.

i dont have room for 3 alums, my mounting depth on the side holes arent big enough. i dont think i want to invert them because they probably break with all the shit that goes in and out of my trunk. i wasnt aware that you ccant mix and match subs so thanks for that one. but in that case ill probably have to go with the other audiobhans, which i dont have any problem with, its just that it's not going to be top of line like eveyrone on here is used to seeing and having. but if i do go with them what amp would you suggest because ill probably run them all to one.
