works pretty well for the price. they make it in bigger sheets as well,
That's the old standard asphalt based mat. I wouldn't recommend using such a product anymore. The butyl mats are far superior, well worth the cost increase over asphalt based products like that one.
And yes, Ive used a crap ton of that very stuff from PE, I know what it is. A few years ago I was the one posting that link to save ppl money on deadening mat... never again.

FatMat is asphalt, Sound Destroyer is asphalt, Peel & Seal is asphalt. Do not use these in a car.

eDead is butyl but it lacks a decent foil facing. This means you will have to use more layers to get the same result and so you pay more and have to do more workj - poor value. The adhesive is OK on the v1SE², but several people have had problems with the v1² peeling itself off.

RAAMmat is the cheapest butyl product you can buy. If you don't want a full roll, e-mail them and see if they will sell you 1/2. If not, buy as much SS Damplifier as you can afford. Either way, you aren't going to be able to do layers and layers in your trunk. Just spread it out and use most of it toward the centers of panels and away from bends and welds. If the panel rings when you tap on it, add some sound deadener. You are much better off using less of a decent product than 2 or 3 times as much crap.

i heard some people use peel and seel from lowes. is that any good? i just want to cut down the rattle in my trunk. whats the best for the money, dont wanna spend to much. Can you remove any of these from your car once installed?

I used this in 3 vehicles now, I just got done tonight putting it in my murano. $12 for a 25ft. roll, you cant beat that. You may have to double up on it, but it works very well for the price.

I can't even tell you how many times I have heard this exact story. What you apparently don't know is the ending. I am actually shocked at how reliable this has become - it's going to either melt or fall off in at least one of your cars. Some of the people who have taken your position over the years are now convinced that it is 100% certain that it will eventually fail in ALL of the vehicles. Who knows? Two of the more prominent people who have abandoned your position are Sean (sp?), owner of ROE and Jacob, owner of Sundown Audio.

Here's where this really turns into a bad joke and why I even bother responding to posts like this anymore: Buying the same dollar amount of a decent butyl adhesive/aluminum foil faced product will work better than an equal dollar amount of asphalt. It will be more effective and take less work to just spread out your purchase of less butyl and you'll have none of problems - melting, falling off, toxic fumes, etc.

So really, It doesn't work very well whether you consider price or not. It is only a good value if you only consider price/area - the least relevant metric by far. Sorry you have doomed yourself or the next owners of your vehicles to a nasty clean up job because you didn't do any research ahead of time, but it is seriously irresponsible to encourage others to make the same mistake.
